lost. but not. stuck. △
Life is like this: sometimes you feel on top of the world, full of motivation, while other times you feel lost and demotivated. It’s normal to have doubts; in fact, they are necessary. They are part of life.
Right now, I feel stuck, as if I’ve veered off my true path, with little progress to show. But that’s just my ego playing tricks on me. I have made progress, and I’ve enjoyed—and continue to enjoy—the journey. I’ve improved significantly in my fitness and social skills. However, when it comes to the financial aspect, it feels like I’m holding back. It’s as if I’m afraid to step boldly forward, as if I don’t believe I deserve to make real progress. Deep down, part of me seems to think it’s wrong to earn money, as though there’s something inherently prejudiced about it.
"We don’t think ourselves into new ways of living, we live ourselves into new ways of thinking.
This is a phrase I heard in a YouTube episode today—one of those phrases that can completely shift your perspective. It’s not about thinking differently to live differently but rather about exploring new ways of living—doing new things, things you’ve never done before—to start thinking differently.
When reflection becomes an excuse
Maybe writing all this time has been great, but I think I’ve been using it as a way to avoid action. Writing can feel like progress, but it’s not, because I’m not dedicating time and energy to processes that move me forward. Writing is great—especially if it’s applied to some type of project—but it’s even better to take real action: to try new things, explore new ways of thinking, and start that project.
Which project? Any project. It doesn’t matter. What matters isn’t the project itself but how you express yourself through it. Whatever it is, the key is to give it your all, to do your best, to create value for others, to leave the world a little better than you found it. That “perfect idea” will never come, nor will that Instagram quote that finally gets you off the couch (you’ve read 2,000 of them and are still in the same place). Liking a post can also be confused with progress, just as talking about your goals without taking action leads nowhere.
Go out there and find something worthy of your attention. You came into this world for a reason—and even if you don’t believe that, even if you think it was all pure chance and coincidence, recognize that this belief is also just another opinion. Sooner or later, you’ll realize that thinking you have a purpose is far more beneficial—not just for you but for those around you.
No one is going to give you the permission you’re waiting for. No one is going to save you. No one will guarantee that what you’re doing is the right thing. Not because people don’t care about you, but because no one can guarantee they’re doing the right thing in their own lives. We all have doubts; we all seek certainty that we’re on the right path. But that’s asking for the impossible. Nothing has ever been certain because we’ve always been walking in unknown territory. And if you’ve ever felt secure, it was nothing more than an illusion.
So, what’s the solution? It might be the one thing we least want to hear. But it’s probably the one we need most. We will never feel completely certain. There will be moments when we feel utterly lost. But this isn’t bad. It’s what allows us to embrace new paths, explore uncharted territories, and immerse ourselves in the truest form of life: the unpredictable and the unknown.
Let the sun continue to rise in the morning and the moon make its way at nightfall.
Don’t try to change the things you cannot change.
Change your mindset by exploring new ways of living—doing new things, things you’ve never done before.
